The Nike Vaporfly 4 is a high-performance men’s road
racing shoe designed for distances ranging from a 10K to a full
marathon. This model represents one of Nike’s fastest racing shoes and focuses
on maximum efficiency and minimal weight. Compared to the Vaporfly 3, Nike
reduced weight in the upper, midsole, and outsole without compromising
performance. The result is an even lighter and more propulsive racing shoe
trusted by competitive runners worldwide. At the core of the shoe is the
ZoomX midsole, Nike’s most responsive foam technology. It
delivers exceptional energy return and a highly dynamic running sensation. By
slightly reducing the midsole structure, Nike managed to decrease overall
weight while maintaining powerful cushioning and bounce. This combination helps
runners maintain speed and efficiency over long distances. A
full-length carbon fiber Flyplate is integrated at a steeper
angle compared to the previous model. This design enhances propulsion and helps
guide the foot through a powerful forward transition. Combined with a lower
heel-to-toe drop, the shoe creates an aggressive and fast racing feel. The
engineered mesh upper reduces weight while maintaining a
consistent and secure fit. A thinner rubber outsole also
contributes to the reduced weight while still providing reliable grip on road
surfaces.
